Fred Korematsu & The Courage to Say No
April 19, 1942 — A Leader is Born
Japanese-American Fred Korematsu, 23, refused to report to an internment camp. He was a citizen who believed he had the right to remain in his own country. That belief got him arrested.
"Being an American citizen was not enough. You have to look like one."
In 2026, Korematsu's stand is not ancient history. We’re still remembering.
